Mr. Frank A. Dorsch, 98, a resident of Onancock, VA, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at his home of natural causes.
He was born in Capeville, VA, on September 9, 1911, the son of Charles Olin Dorsch and Edith Richardson Dorsch.
In 1931, he married Elsie Jackson Bull, who preceded him in death in 2008 after seventy-six years of marriage. He was also predeceased by a sister, Frances Russell, formerly of Parksley, VA.
Survivors include his sons, Barry of Wilmington, DE, Jack and his wife Arlene, of Eureka, CA, and Frank, Jr. and his wife Claudia, of Birdsnest, VA; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Frank was employed by the Panama Canal Commission in 1940, and his family joined him in the Canal Zone in 1941, where they lived until 1951. He retired in 1975 from civil service with the U.S. Air Force at Cape Charles, VA. He was a lifelong member of the United Electrical Workers and a Mason.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Robert Chapman officiating.
