Mr. Stewart F. Justis, 93, of Atlantic, VA, passed away at his residence on Saturday, January 30, 2010.

A native of the Eastern Shore, he was the son of Thomas and Carvella Justis, formerly of Bloxom, VA. He worked as a welder at Maryland Ship & Dry Dock in Baltimore for 40 years. After he retired, he returned to the Eastern Shore in 1981, with his wife, Hazel Gillespie, and quite a few of his antique cars.

He was an active member of several local antique car clubs and loved attending local and national car shows where he won many awards. He was also an active member of Atlantic United Methodist Church where he served the Lord for many years.

He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth A. Justis and his wife Dianne, and Ames L. Justis and his wife Norma, all of Onancock, VA; and nine nieces and nephews, Dawn Mason and her husband Michael, of Pocomoke City, MD, Stanley N. Justis, Jr. and his wife Linda, of Delmar, MD, Janet Justis of Norfolk, VA, Garmon Justis, Jr. and his wife Mary of Dalton, PA, Jean Tierney and her husband Dale of Kissimmee, FL, Robert Justis and his wife Cheri of Germantown, MD, Vance Sammons of Clayton, DE, Brenda Beers and her husband Jack of Montclair City, VA, and Dawn Troia and her husband Tony of Allen, TX. He was predeceased by his wife Hazel in 2004, a sister Viola Sammons of Clayton, DE, and three brothers, Stanley Justis, Sr., Garmon T. Justis, Sr. and Vance Justis.

There will be a visitation at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Atlantic United Methodist Church in Atlantic, VA, on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM with the Pastor Jennifer Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow at the John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to the church social hall following the service for a time of remembrance.
